Position Description

Reports to: Vice President of Community Services

FLSA status: Non-Exempt

GENERAL PURPOSE

Under the direction of the Vice President of Community Services, the Transportation Coordinator is responsible for performing technical work coordinating and scheduling PAA staff transportation services, including the scheduling of MedTran volunteers and related administrative work as required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assists with incoming transportation calls and assists or directs client requests to appropriate staff.

· Works with MedTran volunteers to schedule client transportation adhering to approved MedTran policies and procedures.

· Assists in completion of the PAA quick form on all new transportation clients.

· Receives, coordinates and implements transportation requests relating to the movements of passengers to adult daycare centers, medical facilities, shopping centers, and other locations.

· Maintain regular contact with volunteer drivers to compile feedback and program evaluation information.

· Receives, records, and communicates daily revisions in PAA transportation activities.

· Assists in the maintenance of passenger lists for all PAA transportation services.

· Assists in the input of required data into agency or departmental database.

· Collects records of daily PAA transportation activities and tabulates data.

· Attend training workshops as required.

· Assists Vice President of Community Services in the recruitment and training of volunteers drivers.

· Performs related tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.

· Experience in transportation operations.

· Thorough knowledge of the safe operation of passenger vehicles, the geographic area served, and traffic laws.

· Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks.

· Extensive experience required in use of Microsoft Excel with the ability to create databases and spreadsheets.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

· Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia and a safe driving history.
